We are a small independent team on the Gold Coast building tools we use ourselves. Here is how we think about privacy, the planet, AI, and the kind of product we want to leave behind.
ReceiptAtlas makes money from subscriptions, not from your data. We do not sell your information, serve you ads, or share your receipt history with third parties. That model has no place here.
Your receipt images are stored in Cloudflare R2 object storage. Your extracted data lives in Upstash Redis in Sydney, Australia. Every connection is encrypted with HTTPS. Nobody at ReceiptAtlas reads your receipts — only our AI processes them, and that processing is governed by Anthropic's strict privacy commitments.
You can export everything you have ever uploaded, and you can delete your account permanently at any time. No waiting period, no retention, no questions asked.
We do not run advertising, do not install third-party trackers, and do not use your receipt data to profile you for marketing purposes.
Delete your account and everything goes — images, extracted fields, session tokens. Gone within 30 days, permanently.
Your data lives in the Sydney region. We chose Australian infrastructure intentionally, so your data stays subject to Australian privacy law.
Every business leaves a footprint. We decided early that ours should come with a contribution. From the first paid subscription, 1% of all ReceiptAtlas revenue goes directly to carbon removal through Stripe Climate.
This is not an offset. We are not planting trees and calling it done. Stripe Climate funds verified, permanent removal — CO₂ pulled from the atmosphere and stored underground. The contribution comes from our share of revenue. Your subscription price does not change.
Stripe Climate pools contributions from businesses worldwide and directs them to a portfolio of carbon removal technologies selected by independent scientific advisors. Enhanced rock weathering. Direct air capture. Ocean-based removal. Real, measurable, permanent.
Technology that draws CO₂ directly from the atmosphere and mineralises it permanently underground.
Accelerating natural geological processes that absorb carbon over centuries, compressed into years.
Using the ocean's existing carbon cycle to safely and permanently increase the amount of CO₂ it absorbs.
Capturing carbon stored in organic matter and burying it in stable geological formations permanently.
We chose our infrastructure partners deliberately — not just for performance and price, but for their sustainability commitments. Every layer of the stack we run on has made public commitments to renewable energy or net-zero targets.
ReceiptAtlas is fully serverless. There are no always-on servers sitting idle burning power. Compute runs only when a user is actively using the product — then stops.
Receipt image storage via Cloudflare R2, DNS and edge security via Cloudflare's global network. One of the most energy-efficient networks on earth, committed to 100% renewable operations.
Our application runs on Vercel's serverless edge network, built on AWS. AWS has committed to 100% renewable energy and net-zero carbon across its full supply chain by 2040.
Database on Upstash's serverless Redis in Sydney. Serverless means no compute runs when nobody is using the product. Data stays in the ap-southeast-2 region, local to our Australian users.
Oscar, our receipt scanning engine, runs on Anthropic's Claude API. Anthropic is actively investing in AI safety and published commitments to reducing the environmental footprint of large language models.
Oscar, the engine that reads your receipts, is powered by Claude — one of the most capable and safety-focused AI models available. We chose Anthropic specifically because of their work on AI safety and their public commitment to building AI that is honest, helpful, and harmless.
Oscar's role is narrow and specific: extract structured data from receipt images. It does not learn from your receipts, does not retain images after processing, and does not use your data to train future models. The AI is a tool, not a product that consumes your data in order to work.
We believe AI should make products genuinely better without compromising the privacy or autonomy of the people using them. That is the only way we are willing to build with it.
ReceiptAtlas is built and maintained by a small independent team on the Gold Coast, Australia. We are not venture-backed. We do not have growth targets that require us to monetise your attention or your data. We have one job: build a product people find genuinely useful and keep it running honestly.
The 1% climate contribution, the no-ads policy, the Australian data storage, the right to delete everything instantly — these are not marketing. They are decisions we made before we had a single paying user, and they will not change when we do.
