Go to receiptatlas.com/app and tap Create one. Enter your first name, last name, email and a password. Phone number is optional but helps with password recovery. Once registered you are logged in automatically.
ReceiptAtlas works as a full app installed on your phone — no App Store download required on Android.
From the app, tap the blue Tap to scan a receipt button. This opens your phone camera. Point it at your receipt and take a photo. Oscar will read the receipt and extract all the details automatically within a few seconds.
If you scan a receipt without an internet connection, it is saved to a local queue on your phone. As soon as your connection returns, ReceiptAtlas automatically uploads and processes it. You will see a yellow "Waiting for connection" badge on queued receipts.
Tap the Search tab and type anything — a store name, a product, a date, a suburb, or an amount. ReceiptAtlas searches every word on every receipt.
Pro users can export their entire receipt history as a spreadsheet. Go to the My Receipts tab and tap Export to Spreadsheet (CSV). The file downloads to your device and can be opened in Excel, Google Sheets, or any spreadsheet app. Each row represents one line item, making it ideal for budgeting, tax preparation, or insurance claims.
On the sign in screen, tap Forgot password? and enter your first name, last name, email address, and optionally your phone number. These must match what you registered with. Then enter and confirm your new password.
The Free plan includes 3 scans per month. The counter resets on the 1st of each month. Upgrade to Lite (20 scans) or Pro (unlimited) for more. The scan counter is always visible at the top of the app.

Oscar is ReceiptAtlas's smart scanning engine. When you scan a receipt, the image is sent securely to our AI system which reads every line — store name, date, location, individual items and the total — and returns structured data within seconds. Your receipt image is then stored securely in the cloud.
Your data is stored across enterprise-grade infrastructure: receipt images in Cloudflare R2 (Oceania region), account and receipt data in Upstash Redis (Sydney, Australia), served via Vercel's global edge network. All connections are encrypted with HTTPS.
